SpinOr
SpinOr is a University of Manchester spin-out developing compact, on-site superconducting quantum computing systems.
- Cohort
- NG Spring 2026
- Sector
- Semiconductors & Electronics
What they do
Unlike typical quantum access that relies on shared, centralized cloud infrastructure, SpinOr builds self-contained, modular quantum hardware designed for direct deployment within an institution's own facilities. This enables universities, R&D labs, and high-security defence sites to have sovereign, air-gappable access to advanced quantum computing resources without third-party dependencies.

Tech
Why we invested
- →The system is built around proprietary cryogenic technology, including a mini dilution refrigerator invented by the CTO, allowing superconducting quantum hardware to be compactly deployed on-site.
- →SpinOr addresses a £40-80B total addressable market of over 40,000 potential sites.
- →The founding team combines deep technical expertise in cryogenic RF and superconducting electronics
