What they do

Optical and electrical sensors are limited to pulse and a narrow set of metrics, suffer from motion artefacts, and show inconsistent performance across skin tones. This leaves major gaps in monitoring cardiovascular and respiratory disease, the leading causes of global morbidity.

Product & technology

Auryx repurposes in-ear microphones in ANC earbuds, adding an AI software layer to transform them into health monitors—no new hardware required. Sound is a rich, underused signal, carrying information on cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and mental health. Our platform starts with heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure, and will scale into the world’s most comprehensive foundation model for sound-based health.

Why we invested

  • Pure software wedge: repurposes in-ear mics in existing ANC earbuds, so no new hardware, low friction distribution and attractive unit economics.
  • Rich new signal: sound carries far more info than optical/electrical sensors, enabling heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure now, with a roadmap into neuro and mental health.
  • Platform upside: credible path to a foundation model for sound-based health, with defensible data flywheel and multiple B2B monetisation routes (earbud OEMs, digital health, insurers).
