What they do
Operating in VLEO offers massive advantages for higher resolution imagery, global communications, IoT, and defence, but has historically been constrained by extreme atmospheric drag and atomic oxygen erosion. CASA has developed an advanced 2D material coating to overcome these barriers, making VLEO commercially accessible.
Why we invested
- →Solves the critical physical bottlenecks (drag and erosion) of VLEO, opening up multi-trillion dollar terrestrial market opportunities across telecommunications, IoT, and Earth observation.
- →Extends satellite lifespan and reduces the need for expensive replenishments, enabling constellation operators to save hundreds of millions of dollars annually in OPEX.
- →Targets a $1B+ coating revenue opportunity with a clear go-to-market strategy that transitions from initial pioneer deployments to high-margin recurring licensing with major constellation operators
