What they do
The company aims to close the sustainability loop in the composites industry by reintroducing reclaimed carbon fibre into the supply chain while maintaining high-performance characteristics.
Product & technology
The core technology is AFFT® (Aligned Formable Fibre Technology), which takes chopped, reclaimed carbon fibres and aligns them into a continuous tape product. This process enables single-step forming from a 2D preform into a 3D product, effectively reducing manufacturing time by more than 50%. The resulting advanced material boasts superior vibration dampening, a 20% higher interlaminar shear strength compared to virgin material, and delivers a >75% reduction in the carbon footprint.
Why we invested
- →Immediate commercial adoption in a $500M sporting goods and consumer electronics market before expanding into regulated sectors.
- →The AFFT® process drastically reduces 3D forming and manufacturing time by over 50%.
- →Strategic supply chain value: UK-based manufacturing provides critical sovereign supply advantages for defence and aerospace partner
