Product & technology
Current cellular IoT chips (LTE-M and NB-IoT) use the RF portion to demodulate GPS radio signals and output a digital baseband signal. Nestwave's embedded software detects satellites and measures distances within the chip's CPU and DSP before sending the data to Nestcloud. The cloud service then triangulates the data using satellite ephemeris from NASA's website to obtain the user's position.
