What they do
They are creating the first universal testing platform to provide accurate, digital imaging-based identification of infectious disease at point of care.
Product & technology
Pictura Bio combines molecular labelling, computer vision and machine learning to create a universal diagnostic platform that looks directly at a patient sample and can identify which pathogen is present in a matter of seconds. Their Neural Network is the database that their hardware checks against to identify a pathogen. This process ensures that as new tests and pathogens are learned by the network, it can be continuously rolled via a software update, instead of requiring new panels and the infrastructure to go with it.
Why we invested
- →Market pull for diagnostic tests to be run at the point of care with rapid results
- →Respitory ilnesses are the first application but potential to use against other viruses
- →Ability to apply a software update to detect new varients
- →Proof it works as accurate as a PCR test
