What they do
Regulation is banning PFAS “with a vengeance …and alacrity”. Alternatives today exist but are not at the expected standards of functionality, both as assessed by manufacturers and brands. ADN has an original solution, patent(s) pending, that has the potential to be “first in class” in PFAS replacement. It also has an original “Lego” approach making the solution readily adaptable to different sectors/customers and ensuring palatable economics.
Product & technology
Our technology is based on nanoporous materials which offer promising avenues for innovative PFAS-free liquid repelling coatings. By leveraging porosity and customisable chemical compositions into our coating formulations, we create coatings that can be varied in thickness from nanoscale to thicker versions. The coatings are capable of repelling water and even low surface tension molecules, thereby offering superior protection against water ingress, dynamic liquid impacts, contamination, fouling, corrosion etc. Additionally, the tunability of the ingredients allows for the incorporation of functional groups that enhance adhesion to various surfaces, ensuring durability and longevity in diverse environmental conditions.
Why we invested
- →Huge regulatory tailwind: PFAS bans in US, France and EU create urgent, non-discretionary demand for high-performance replacements.
- →True PFAS substitute: MOF/COF coatings repel water, oils, solvents and blood on almost any substrate while matching durability and impact resistance.
- →Clear edge vs competitors: stronger performance, multi-liquid repellence and cost competitiveness vs other PFAS-free players.
